Prepare your files with care

Be accurate, when you prepare your files. An well-ordered file rather than a formless pile of documents will predispose the civil servant behind its counter in your favour. Before depositing your file, please, check again if no document is missing : a forgotten detail and you would have to come back, to queue again… you certainly have many other things to do.

Have good quality photocopies, that is perfectly legible and with the original document that does not seem cut. Do not forget the back of any sheet you photocopy.

If you are the anguished kind, bring more papers than you are asked to, but always well arranged : for example, twelve bank statements rather than three, two photocopies instead of one… But please, show them only if necessary : your excess of zeal could bother your interlocutor.
