Specific advice for requsting
for a residence permit
Get ready for the renewal of your residence permit of the next year
and anticipate it. Certain students believe, but they are wrong,
that they will just be asked documentary evidence for the year which
begins. The prefecture can also verify those of the past year especially
for the resources from abroad or ensured by a French referee. Keep
all the documentary evidence proving that the sums were effectively
paid to you : bank statements, international mandates, lists of
exchange…
It is he same thing for the " reality and the seriousness " of your
studies : keep all the documentary evidence of your school attendance,
the practical works, exams and marks…
When you go to the prefecture, try to go with a friend, rather a
French one, or tell somebody you go there. Go with a phone card
or coins and some telephone numbers (friends, associations…) to
call in case of problem (custody).
