Easy ways to equip your flat
How to fit out your space and spend as little as possible ? Not
that easy. First stage : take the measurements of your rooms, to
avoid any loss of place. Then, take time to look, to compare the
prices in various shops. If your room has a height of ceiling about
3,5 m, think of a mezzanine : at the top a cosy nest, below an desk
to revise your exams. If you stay two or three years, do not break
your moneybox in the purchase of furniture. There are places where
the prices challenge any competition.
Emmaüs : 01 48 93 25 33.
You will find everything there for a reasonable price. Call up to
know if there is one of their stores in your area.
The Salvation Army : 01 47 00
42 40.
The same system as Emmaüs : furniture and second-hand household
electrical appliance, at really very low prices.
The SERAP (buying group) : 01
41 17 20 20. Minitel : 3615 SERAP.
This power plant proposes you quality products at advantageous prices
: household electrical, Hi-fi, video, computer… Everything to equip
your flat at cool price. Consult the phone book.
Spot the stores of department stores (BHV, Darty…). The prices are
generally less dear (expensive).
If you live in a big city, Ask for the fleas market. Don't be afraid
! It is also also a space reserved for the sale of second-hand objects.
You can generally negotiate the prices. Finally, the rumours ca,
be miraculous. A friend, a neighbour, can need to empty their cellar
or to get rid of this cooker which still works but whose colour
does not fit his place any more ! Last point : do not forget to
contact quickly EDF/GDF to be supplied with gas and electricity
as well as France Telecom for your telephone line.

Bills
Telecom bills generally arrive every other month. You have about
20 days to pay. Beyond the date, the amount will be raised by
10 %. Then, if you forget to pay…. You 'll have to buy candles
and writing pad.
Rent : we really advise you to send your check regularly. If
you have some difficulties in paying on time, it would be wiser
to inform the owner to find a compromise. However, nothing obliges
him there and after two unpaid months you could receive the
visit of a bailiff… To avoid this kind of pinprick, we advise
you not only to control correctly your budget (certain associations
can help you), but also to stick almost everywhere in your flat
" post-it " - small self-adhesive papers - as a reminder on
which you will have taken care to note in red " bills to pay
! "
