The social action of the Crous
: 
The University Solidarity Fund (FSU) is a help of the State which
allows the Crous to lend or give money in the form of loans, of exceptional
allowances or of gifts, a quick help for the students in trouble.
Every request is the object of a file supervised by a social worker.
It is presented anonymously in a committee of the Crous which decides
according to the social and university elements, of the allocation
or not of a help from the FSU. To know more about it, get in touch
with a social worker of the Crous (durabilities on all the university
sites : HQ of Crous, universities, places of residence…).
Various helps and loans :
The Fund of assistance to the student life (FAVE) is financed by the
students themselves (some euros taken during the administrative registration).
It is managed by a social Committee of which can decide of either
emergency helps, or collective helps (projects, infrastructure…).
The amount of the individual helps is generally very low.
The exceptional individual Help (HAVE) targets the non-grant holders.
It is attributed by a rectorale committee made of the student representatives
of the Crous. The criteria are social and educational (the social
situation of the student as well as the opinion of the professors).
The application is made with the social workers.
The helps of local authorities : certain municipalities, general or
regional councils, give students grants or loans of honor. The selection
is made at the same time on social and university criteria. Some are
reserved for the French students or for the students whose parents
live in the concerned administrative area. Inquire with the social
affairs service of the university or the school.
For the students whose parents live in France, also see the helps
assigned by Social Security Offices and pension funds.
The students of the high schools of engineers or management, can,
according to their financial situation, benefit from helps of their
establishment of studies or partial exemptions or total of the school
fees. To know more about it, apply to the registrar's service of the
school.
Banks, by granting student loans think in terms " of investment
", their objective being to keep the student as a customer when
he has become a professional. One understands so that a foreign student,
whose vocation is to come back to his country, once his studies ended,
is a lesser interest for them.
